Investigation of Goodwill Omaha

During my time at the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office, I led the investigation into Goodwill Omaha. The Omaha World Herald had run a series of stories that exposed the financial and cultural problems at Goodwill Omaha. We spent almost two years reviewing documents, interviewing and deposing witnesses and collecting information. At the conclusion of the investigation, we issued a public report on our findings and also a set of guidelines for nonprofits in the State of Nebraska.

At the conclusion of the Goodwill investigation, we presented a comprehensive report of our findings, identifying the problems present at Goodwill, steps taken to remedy those, and additional steps which Goodwill would be required to take. A copy of that report is available here:
